- Returning to work early or late. It will hurt your case if you return to work too soon. Rather than displaying loyalty, it demonstrates you are feeling better, or intentionally putting yourself at risk. Returning late could seem needy or lazy.
- Accepting workplace discrimination when you return. If you are unable to perform your previous duties, you should know exactly what you will be doing when you return and for how long. If they change your salary, make jokes, or fire you, this could be grounds for workplace discrimination.
- Discussing your case with uninvolved parties. Avoid discussing your case on social media or with anyone uninvolved in your case.
